[News][12.04.11] Why do idols only sing “love songs’”? NU’EST talks about the dangers in school

On an online community site, a video about teenage school bullying had been posted and is currently becoming the biggest problem for the teenagers.

The poster of this video had also left a small note saying “I listened to the rookie group, NU’EST’s song and I could remember the hard times I had during my young age. I hope the teenagers reduce the amount of pain they have these days.”

What was the most impressive thing that moved the people’s hearts? In the video, there was a compilation of NU’EST’s music video from their debut song ‘FACE’ and segments of teenagers being bullied.

The song ‘Face’ has lyrics such as ‘The showmanship you have already learnt, you have already gotten rid of friendship’, ‘The News is always the same, I am just different’, ‘What did you learn in order to be so bad’. These lyrics match up very well with the issues that the teenagers are currently going through.

Another aspect in why this is agreeable is because of the messages that are portrayed by popular brands, which are teenager’s favorite brands. These messages include “You are trying to find the Himalayas in this small place”, “click the like it for your current state”.

These days, the music industry is full of ‘love’. The idols and ballad singers only sing ‘love songs’. This is because it is easy to relate to people with human feelings that a person would’ve experienced once.

There is also a reason for this rookie group to be known, they are voicing their own opinons on the society these days.

In an interview, NU’EST had said “There are lots of problems happening between teenagers. We want to voice out those problems” and“This is because people would agree with this problem after fading out of their teens and we have to solve this problem”.

These boys are still 18 and 19. NU’EST are still young teenagers but they claimed to represent the teenage years. And their truthfulness is catching the eyes of many people.

[News][12.04.12] NU’EST formally announces “We want to be a global group.”

NU + Establish + Style + Tempo = NU’EST ‘Creating a new genre of music’

From Pledis the company famous for releasing female artists like After SchoolSon Dambi and others, a new boy band with much popularity and competitive NU’EST was revealed.

Familiar with the foreign, born in 1993, Aron, filling up the holes on the floor, steady leader JR, 1995 same age friend BaekhoRen, andMinhyun, these five members of NU’EST displayed a strong choreography with their unique song, leaving other rookie artists a terrific first impression.

“People first know us as After School Boys, but we can’t always use that name. So we must do our best and practice, every practice session we have this thinking of we must not let everyone down.” (Baekho)

The people around us had a tremendous reaction, thus unable to know how well themselves fared among the audience, NU’EST asked:“How was everyone’s reaction towards us recently?” However within their three month promotion period, they met up with Shinhwa, SHINEE, 2AM, BIGBANG and other senior groups, and even BTOBEXO and other highly anticipated rookie groups debuting, they have to spare no effort in letting the audience remember their faces.

“We created the title track “Face” with a Dubstep genre, which is famous in Europe, and also went after a different side. Specially is that Aron and I joined in in writing the lyrics, to show off NU’EST’s strength.” (JR)

“Hopefully those who have a bad view on idol groups debuting will not view us in the same light. We will do our best in using our songs and strengths to the fullest, to let everyone disregard the bad views on NU’EST.” (Baekho)

Being NU’EST’s new confident weapon, their title track “Face” got reviews like “No regrets, I love it”. Supposedly a song that represents the love between a couple, but the company wanted something special and hence transforming it into a problem that happened in the classroom, using “on behalf on 10th generations’ NU’EST” concept.

“We are part of the 10th generation, bullying in school is a problem that is sensitive to all, we hope that these problems would disappear soon.” (JR)

Rookie group NU’EST keeps on showing off their endless efforts. “Before debut, we stayed up all night just to practice, hoping that we will be able to let our talents shine.”

There may be slip ups, and things to learn from, but to improve themselves to show a better side, after recording the members will head straight towards the viewing screen to look and monitor their own stage.

To show off a perfect side, a much more charismatic NU’EST was part of different music broadcasting programs and reality program, to show off the real side of their efforts. During activities, their official fan cafe reached up to 5000 members, showing off their potential.

It’s still too early to decide whether they were a success or a failure, will they be able to show the purpose of their differentiated and new side, anticipating NU’EST paving out their own history as a new rookie.

“Hoping that within the rookie groups there won’t be enemies forming, but only competing as rivals on stage, and as friends off stage. With their endless efforts in becoming Korea’s representative, ‘Global NU’EST’.”

[News][12.04.13] NU’EST Wstarnews Interview

NU + Establish + Style + Tempo = NU’EST ‘Creating a new genre of music’

From Pledis the company famous for releasing female artists like After SchoolSon Dambi and others, a new boy band with much popularity and competitive NU’EST was revealed.

Q: Son Dambi, After School, what level is their affection for you?
Baekho: Son Dambi sunbae bought snacks for us right after filming for a program and photoshoots at the spot. Orange Caramel sunbaes gave us tips. Though they are busy now and we don’t meet that often anymore, I’m still grateful to them.

Q: Other than the seniors from the company, who are the other singers do you like?

JR: The members all like TVXQ and BIGBANG. I personally like Eminem. At first nobody accepted him, but he worked hard, and his efforts paid off as both white and black people now accepted him, being the best singer out there. I want to be like him, working very hard to have my efforts pay off when everyone recognise us as the best musicians out there.
REN: I like Michael Jackson, Beyonce. I want to be as perfect as them.
Aron: Our vocal teacher once said that my vocals sounds like Lee Juk senior, and ever since then, I started listening to his songs.
Baekho: Ah… I like TVXQ seniors’ competence and powerful stages. I hope to be able to present that powerful side of me on stage.
Minhyun: BIGBANG seniors with their enjoyable performances and communication with fans. I wish to be someone who people enjoy seeing me on stage. Now, I’m endlessly doing and working my best.

Q: As of now, what is the happiest thing that had happened to you?
Baekho: Debut?
Aron: No matter what I say, it’s still the moment we debuted the happiest. (Haha)
Ren: (Expressionless) I’m always happy. Eh? I don’t look happy? No… I’m always happy…
JR: When I’m on stage dancing.
Minhyun: When the filming for the mv comes to an end. It represents that we had worked our best.
Baekho: Our boss had prepared very well, he even came down to watch us practice. Like a real father.

Q: Other than Aron, the rest are all born in 1995, are there any pros and cons to this?
Baekho: The first pro is that it is very convenient. At first it felt like all of us are friends. Now that we had been together for awhile, it felt like we are even closer than family members. We can talk comfortably. Ah… Seems like there isn’t any cons?
Aron: Though I’m the oldest one, I still communicate with the young ones like friends. Because I grew up in the States, we don’t have older and younger brothers treatment. Nine months ago when I just came to Korea, I told them to treat me like a friend. The kids are all very obedient, hence there is no tiring work on controlling them.
